London's River : An evocative 1920s tour down the river Thames
Presented by Gare Maritime (www.garemaritime.com) Shot in the 1920s this intriguing short film contains shots of numerous London landmarks including the Tower of London, Tower bridge and Hampton Court. It also includes film of the Oxford - Cambridge boat race and several London bridges. Through evocative photography and descriptive titles the viewer is transported to a bygone age when the buzz of the London docks downstream contrasts with the placid rural riverscape found further upstream.
