This short 9.5mm home movie film shows the Orient Line steamship Strathallan steaming towards and past the camera. It film appears to have been taken as the ship undertakes sea trials in the Firth of Clyde (off the Isle of Arran, Scotland). There is a painting rig towards the stern on the ship and the hull rides high in the water. The Strathallan was sunk by submarine torpedo in December 1942 while operating as a troopship.
