Rageh Omaar presents Witness, a half-hour daily documentary series which features short, specially commissioned or acquired films gathered from independent film-makers.

Each documentary reveals the unknown lives of ordinary people, following their lives, telling their stories and portraying the challenges that confront them.

Our witnesses are people in a situation or those who have observed them first hand.

The films cover conflict, belief, the past and the future and as well as bringing new stories to light they showcase the talents of a new breed of multi-skilled, frontline journalist.

In the studio, Rageh will further explore the issues raised in the films, with expert guests on the subject matter and the film-makers themselves.

Another Road Home

‘Another Road Home’ is the simple and heart-rending story about a young Israeli woman's search for the man who helped bring her up as a baby. But because the man is Palestinian it becomes a drama of international proportions. Borders have to be negotiated, history re-interpreted, but most importantly, both sides have to sit down and talk. It's an intensely personal story that proves love can transcend even the most bitter, political conflicts. Danae Elon discusses making her film in the studio with Rageh Omaar and describes how it feels to be watching it again as an older, wiser woman.
